Solenoid question
I have an Alltrax NPX400 controller installed with 4 gauge wire. Is a stock FNR switch and solenoid ok or do I need to go heavy duty?

Re: Solenoid question
The manufacture says NPX controllers are stock replacement controllers. They are not meant for upgraded suspension and larger wheels & tires. So a stock controller should go good with a stock f&R and solenoid.
From the manufacture's website... The NPX product line are Non-Programmable Controllers used with SERIES Wound Motors, (Field and Armature are in seeries). These units are designed specifically for factory equipped golf cars. These units are designed for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) stock replacement controllers for stock cars with stock motors only. With a peak current rating they are not designed for lifted or high performance vehicles. |

Re: Solenoid question
Thanks Scotty, would I benefit any upgrading those components or just leave well enough alone? I was also thinking about my motor at the end of the year, can I upgrade it without problems? If I can what could I go with or would I be better just to go through the current motor?

Re: Solenoid question
If I wanted to upgrade my solenoid what would be the specs that I would go to? And what is a good solenoid to buy?

Re: Solenoid question
many people use the white-rodgers heavy duty 36v solenoid. it's about $65 and most sponsors should have it.
