No. If you have 6 volt batteries you can charge 2 at a time with a 12 volt automotive charger. Then once they are up enough you can let the golf cart charger take over and finish the job.

Or you can hook a 12 volt charger to 1 side of cart and a car with jumper cables to the other side and have someone ready to plug the charger in then once charger is pluged and turns on unhook booster cables and 12 volt charger.Thats what i did with mine.It tricked the 36volt charger. It made it think there was 28 volts between all the bateries which is what it needs to charge.

Hi, when you go to charge two batteries together on a 12v charger, you must make sure you are moving the battery contacts to positive on positive right? Because as it is setup it is right now hooked up to positive to negative. Please help i am having the same issues of a completely dead battery.

Any 2 batteries in the cart that has the cable tieing them together can be chargered. You have the cable hooked to one batteries + and the other end of the cable is hooked to the - of the other battery.

You hook the charger up just like any other 12 volt battery RED to + , black to -.
