Is an upgrade to 48v worth it?
I'm wondering if the added performance is worth the cost. I have a 97 TXT DCS 36v, stock with 4g cables. Its getting new batteries this spring so thats why I'm considering the upgrade. I use the cart at a campground and it struggles on some hills. It is a 4 passenger cart and is usually loaded. I know I would need a new controller, solenoid and charger. Is there anything else I would need?
Thanks for your advice. |

Tens of thousands of people can't be wrong. If your buying new batts anyways thats the time to do it. 48 volt Controller, charger and solenoid...maybe upgrade the cables. Its a 25-30% increase.

Re: Is an upgrade to 48v worth it?
Roady is right about the benefits of a voltage increase. 48v = a 25 -30% torque and speed increase over 36v
But lets face it, if you are driving around with a rear seat and 4 passengers on a stock controller and 4g cables..... you could benefit from a controller and solenoid upgrade alone. Even at 36 volts! |
