Default This is Weird!

....that I'm posting on an EZ slow topic. A friend of mine has got the fever and he's looking at an 06 EZ PDS. The shop has quoted him $5k for the following:
06 pds cart w/2 yr, warranty(100%)
Jakes Lift
12" rims and tires
Performance Chips(jumpers)
Custom paint job
Re-geared for more speed for the torque chip?
Marine Stereo
Rear Seat

Sounds too good to be true...right? I going to go look at it for him,...any advice? Thanks in advance.

Many variables here:

Quality level of the rims and tires
Quality of paint work
Make and age of the batteries

A 2 year warranty is a great feature.
What is the price without the warranty?
Does the warranty cover the battery pack?
Does the cart have head/tail lights?
Roof? (standard or extended).
Windshield?
Flip/flop rear seat?

Lifted PDS carts seem to be hit or miss on the stock controllers. Some guys swear by them, others swear at them. My .02 : ask the questions and report back. Maybe we can save him some moolah!

Hear gorno, PDS controller will work with lift kit, BUT he will want an aftermarket controller at least on a stock motor.

The chips deal sound as tale story...
The PDS has only 4 dif configs and they all have the same torque, what you get with different chips is the different motor braking control with traduces in more or less regeneration abilities. At the end the Freedom chip (which can be done by Goofy with 2 simple wires if you want) will get out the top speed from the motor since it removes the regen ability from the motor.

This is another nice word said... with completely no sense...

Tell him to ask how much $ more for aftermarket speed controller, he will want it... unless he plans to drive on a flat to mild terrain all the time.

Gaston,
Thank you,...from what I've learned you sound correct...I just didn't want say it because I really don't know EZs. I've heard torque is a problem with the EZ PDS...a friend of mine yanked the PDS and put in a BU torque motor with 700amps, and re-geared it. I couldn't get to him quick enough. He has a nice setup now...he just paid too much for it! Thanks again!

Also ask if they are going to give you any kind of credit for the parts they take off? If not, make sure you get them back and sell them or save them but don't just give them to the shop. Alot of people sometimes forget this.

Never mind, I first thought you were taking a cart in for all this work but just re-read it and noticed, Hey, the cart comes with it..........................It was late.
