Broken Battery Post
Today started as a good day because I had just ordered the parts for a 36v performance upgrade from Scottyb. Thanks Scotty, you were a great help. While trying to prep the cart a little for for the upcoming components I must have put a little too much torque on a battery post and it broke off. I am assuming that this is unrepairable??? If it is repairable I would love to hear some suggestions. If it can't be repaired that 48v upgrade may come a little sooner than I expected.

Re: Broken Battery Post
Thanks Rib. I am not sure if it will work although there are about two to three threads left in the portion left in the battery. I am not sure if I can tap it a little more and then run that bolt down a little further. If I were to do that will I be losing any of the connectivity of that lug? Or will it be immeasurable?

Re: Broken Battery Post
I think that battery has been through enough. It's obvious that someone has already repaired the terminal once before. How much more can one battery take?

Re: Broken Battery Post
Gornoman, I am seeing the same thing. It looks like it has been through one repair already. I have some other posts that looked syripped by the last owner as well. I contacted a battery place near me and they said as long as no fluid is leaking by it then it can be repaired. The repair is cheap but like you said "how much can one battery take?"
But I am leaning toward the 48v upgrade with Scottyb. |

Re: Broken Battery Post
The email has been sent for the upgrade to 48v to Scottyb. I am hoping that I do not turn into one of those "36v to 48v upgrade HELP!!!!" threads.
I have a feeling I will be spending a lot more time on BGW now. And not just lurking anymore. |
