Battery Amp Question

I found a site that uses Trojans 105 batts for solar arrays, which is just like what I have in my cart now.
I was wondering if the amperage matter if the cart is a resistor or controller?
Like using the Trojans L-16p @320Ah or the L-16h@420AH? I figured that it also has to factor in what the motor can handle, but really shouldn't matter.
Then there's the issue of the bigger 6v batts being taller as well. Just mainly wondering about the amp hour part of the batts.

Stick with the T105. They are 225ah & made to fit golf carts. Stay away from the smaller & less expensive T605.

You can never have too much amperage reserve... the controller will limit the motor draw. A resistor cart will not. Hope this helps.

ok, that does. I was just wondering if you could use them. At least I know where I may be able to get some cheaper batts if shipping doesn't eat up the budget.
Too bad you couldn't put a solar panel on top with an onboard charger to keep the cart charged when stopped in the sun.
Will keep with the controller setup then.

My friend at C&R carts in Easley SC put a solar panel on a cart for the local country club and after 3 weeks they brought it back and had it taken off. It wouldn't keep the batteries charged enough to pay for it.
I just put a small 10 watt on my 04 E-Z-GO at the beach.

I'd add that you need to look at the weight and height of those batteries. They are nearly double the weight of T105's and stopping the cart becomes an issue on stock brakes. Also, I'm not sure without measuring if there is enough clearance from the seat bottom to the battery trays to accommodate those batteries.
