Default EZGO PDS code?

Cart only goes 3-4 MPH. Good voltage, 37 under load, 30 amps starting to move, then only 10 amps goes to motor once it is moving. Diagnostic code 3 beeps then 2 beeps, which is solenoid welded. But the solenoid is fine, tests 0 Amps/volts when off on the output side and 37 volts 30 amps when starting to move.

It also says check AUX power, what are they referring to?

I have been told it may be the speed sensor but it isn't beeping a code for that problem. Will pull and inspect that tomorrow.

Thank you!

Yes, 3-2 beeps indicates a welded solenoid . . . symptom for this is "car moves slowly". A welded solenoid can still test as good, since it still moves the car.

That is not to say that coincidentally the speed control sensor does not also have an issue (or the magnet on that sensor), but I would start with the solenoid (EZGO part #27855G01) $23.30 suggested retail.

"30 amps starting to move" is way too low. It usually takes more than 30 amps to keep the cart in motion AFTER it is at speed, therefore the startup amperage should be much higher. The cart is telling you to replace the solenoid, trust this info and do it. Be sure to switch the controller to Tow before performing service on the cart.

And, WELCOME TO BGW!

Replace that solenoid.

I just got in a agrument with a customer about this. He said his solenoid clicks its good, but My carts wont move. He also stated he was getting 38V on the output side. I gave him a solenoid and told him to try it. Guess what the soldnoid fixed it. He called back and said he will listen to me from now on and Thanks.

I'm convinced, I ordered a solenoid. Thanks to everyone for the help.

By stuck solenoid do they mean that it is a poor connection inside and a limited amount of current can flow due to resistance? I put voltmeters and amp meters on either side of the solenoid to test it, and of course it started working just fine and the codes went away. I'll cut this one open and look at the contacts when the new one arrives.

Sometimes the slightest bump or disturbance can free the contact. As they get worse it will actually take a hammer rap to free it and eventually nothing will open the solenoid....

I was Reading this thread to diagnose slow-weak reverse. I had gotten 3-2 code ,replaced solenoid ,same. swapped controllers ,same. then got 3-3. Reversed leads on FWD REV switch, towhich then I had sluggish Forward and strong Reverse. BINGO !! FWD REV switch BAD.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
