Default New Batteries and old charger

I just forked out $700 for new batteries for ezgo 36 volt cart. I have the origional charger which is probably close to 10 years old. My question is would it be worth the $450 to get one of the Buggies unlimited micro chargers that actually monitor the voltage of the batteries and charge when needed. If it will give my new batteries a few extra years i think it would be worth the investment...
