Default Disc Brakes

I did this a few weeks ago on my 04 PDS E-Z-GO for the beach.
OK guy's here is the install on the 04 E-Z-GO Bling Bling!
First I jacked it up and secured it. Took both back wheels off and spacers. OK here is the fun part. You take the hub off and all of the brakes so I just took it off as assemmbly! Much faster and easier to.

Take the cotter key out and take the castle nut off and pull hub off. Mine sliped right off. I couldn't beleive that! Those are 04 hubs and brakes shoes.

You can still see splines in the hub! How cool is that!

Take the four bolts inside the brake assembly loose and hold on to them. You reuse them or like me I replaced with new lock washers and nuts.

Close up of assembly.

OK on the drivers side I went ahead and took the brake cables loose and looosened the nuts under the cart and took the c-clips off.

Here is the assembly off and now the reassembly begins.

The axle tube.

I followed the directions to a tee and it went back on with no problems other than I had to cut the outer ends of the lift u-bolts to clear the brake paw. You install the harden hub and torque the castle nut back down. I used 120ft Lbs. The tool Pimp Daddy made me made this a lot easier. Thanks my friend.

Make sure the washer inside the hub is there and the outside washer is in place. Never back off the castle nut when installing the hubs no matter what! Here is a backside shot.

Then you install the rotor with two lugnuts hand tight to align the brakes.

Here is what you should look like for now.

This is what I had to cut off. No biggy just had to make room.

Here is what I have now.

Thumbs up Re: Disc Brakes

Here is the rest. I couldn't fit all of it in one post over here.
You can't put it on but one way so it's not hard. Slip it into place stick the 2 bolts in and tighten them down to 20 ft lbs and it on.

Put the cable back on this side and move to the other side and it's done. This whole job plus stopping and taking pictures took less than 3 hrs. Man I like this kit. Can't wait to get the kit on the dragster!

Looks great Andy....I'm in the same boat right now as this was one of the mods I wanted to do when I had the body off but was too anxious to get the cart on the road so I skipped it for now....

Hope I don't regret it in the future.......
