Re: Have ? About my top speed
You need to upgrade the motor, send it to PQ and they can help you run faster.

Re: Have ? About my top speed
So your saying a stock motor is only good for around 12 mph? If so that sucks the guy at my local cart shop that sold me the controller and wires and solenoid told me it should run around 20 with the up grades

Re: Have ? About my top speed
A stock motor will run well at a higher speed it's just not going to do anything with more amp's alone.
A golf cart controller with more amp's will do nothing for top speed! It will get you there faster but the end results are the same. To go faster you need to move up to 48 volts are a little bigger tire on back. |

Re: Have ? About my top speed
Scottb,
I have no info on that to say. His question is about a series cart. I know on a series cart that amps equal torque not speed. |

Re: Have ? About my top speed
Like Andy said you have to have more rpms to get more speed amps give you torque and get you there faster. Plum Quick and or more volts. Taller tires will change it some too.

Re: Have ? About my top speed
That is about right for 36v. I moved up to 48v 480a controller and get a little over 14 and pulls great. I have an Amp Meter and do not see over 200a draw unless I stand on the brakes going up hill with full pedal and then see a little over 300a. Plum Quick is building me a new motor to turn around 6500 RPM and do 28 MPH. For $225 they can upgrade your motor for around 4500 RPM / 19 MPH on 18" tires, 22 on 20.5"
