Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I have a 2010 RXV and would like to have the option of turning the backup beeper on or off. Can someone tell me where the buzzer is located and if wiring in a switch would cause any problems to the operation of the cart? Should I use any particular switch? Thanks.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I don't know much about the RXV but on the TXT, E-Z-GO's previous model, the buzzer was behind the dashboard. I think the RXV would be in the same place. I don't believe there would be a problem with the switch. A switch is a good idea because on the TXT an error code was sent through the buzzer if there was a problem. Look behind the dashboard for the buzzer, start near the key switch because that's were it is on the TXT. I don't know much about the RXV but it should be similar, as E-Z-GO don't change its models very much.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I squirted some silicone in mine and it is very quiet, not quiet enough for hunting though. I have not heard of any problems with people unplugging them but as mentioned, it does provide information with trouble codes.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I have a 2Five and also thought the buzzer was too loud. When I made a comment, the dealer's mechanic just took some electrical tape and covered the tiny speaker with a small piece. Perfect.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
Thanks for the tips. I will try to reduce the volume using tape (or whatever) and see if that is good enough. If not, then i'll install a switch.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I would use tape. the RXV is very picky on accessories and tampering with factory items.
I think if you disconnect the buzzer the cart will not run. |

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
I stuffed an ear plug into the hole on my buzzer... worked great!

In construction we take a piece of rubber (mudflap) and zip-tie it over the alarms. Don't tell OSHA.

Re: Silencing Backup Buzzer on RXV
Appreciate all the suggestion! FYI, the speaker on the RXV is located under the seat, on the passengers side, on the underside of a plastic covering for the electronics. You must remove the three plastic tabs (?), lift the cover and the speaker is accessible. A little electrical tape significantly reduced the volume.
