Default How hot is too hot?

How hot should the motor be after a 30 min. ride.I installed my new motor, took it for a ride, got back and felt the motor. It was pretty hot, wouldn't hold my hand on it for long.Just wondering if this is normal ?

As I understand it, you should be able to hold your hand on it for 4 or 5 seconds.

I use a laser temperature sensor for checking hot stuff. It comes in real handy when checking for heat (resistance) in all sorts of things from F&R switches to chargers
