94 medalist brake pedal sticking
Brake pedal was fine a few weeks ago, my young daughters have been riding it a lot, and the brake pedal isn't coming back up when you remove your foot. I can see a spring around the brake pedal shaft, is this the culprit?
Thanks. |

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
99% of the time it's rust and such around the bolt that holds the pedal in. Take a hammer to it a couple of times. If you can take it out and clean it good and relube it. Should fix it. Make sure the springs are all good though!

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
As much as your cart gets used I would look for a broken return spring?

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
Thaks guys, is the return spring the one underneath the pedal that goes around the shaft of the pedal assembly?
Thanks again. |

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
Yes that is the spring that lifts the peddle back up.

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
Also make sure the cables and their housings are free and clear. The cables need to slide through those housings without restriction or they will not release the pressure and the pedal will not return to it's static position. VERY COMMON problem on EZ-Go sparkys.

will these have to be replaced, or are they repairable? |

Re: 94 medalist brake pedal sticking
Replacing cables is pretty common like G says, especially when they get smashed or pinched or filled with dirt and rust.
