Burned controller -- Can you ID this IC OR Resistor?
I have an EZGO PDS with a Curtis 1206MX controller. Due to a wiring mistake two components in the controller burned up. I am confident in my ability to repair the controller and save the $$ but I need to identify resistor and IC that burned up. As you can see from the attached pictures the damage from the burn-up prevents me from reading color bands and IC markings.
Can anybody share an up close picture of their 1206MX board so that I can read the resistor color bands and Q3 IC markings? OR Can anybody provide that information to me directly? Thanks! Close ups of the burned parts that I need Identified. http://www.mymegabyte.com/1206mxclose1.jpg http://www.mymegabyte.com/1206mxclose2.jpg Blurry picture of the whole board with burned parts circled. http://www.mymegabyte.com/1206mx2.jpg (I external linked the pictures so I could post high-res) -- Edit -- Currently, the resistor measures 1.8k but obviously damage could have changed that. |

Re: Burned controller -- Can you ID this IC OR Resistor?
This is a follow-up and bump. :)
With a lot of inspection and looking around I believe I am on the track to finding the part number for the burned IC but I still really need a picture or confirmation from someone. I believe the IC (Q3) is an International Rectifier brand N MOSFET. But I have not been able to get any further then that. I know taking one of these apart can be a pain but does anybody have one lying around that they have already taken apart that they can check for me? |

I would bet if you quietly asked our sponsor that rebuilds these you could get your answers, maybe even the parts. Here's the link: http://www.fsip.biz/

Re: Burned controller -- Can you ID this IC OR Resistor?
Q3 = IRLU024N
R66 = 33ohm 1watt Future electronics has the mosfet for $0.48 http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/...:True,Nea:True These controllers have clad circuit boards meaning they have solder traces sandwiched between the top and bottom layers. This can make these really hard to repair without a schematic. I have a 1206sx that I need the some resistor values for, hopefully someone will help me as I have helped you. I also have these parts if you want me to send them to you! What caused the failure? You likely have some related components failed as well. Check the components I circled in the photo. Once again a schematic would really help track what caused these components to fail. It would only take a few more minutes to go ahead and check all of the transistors and diodes on both boards(highly recommended). |

Did any one ever figure out what caused the failure, I have a controller with the same issue and can't track down what's causing it.

Re: Burned controller -- Can you ID this IC OR Resistor?
Hello MEGABYTE, I am looking for a diagram of a FSIP 1206-MX driver and found your posting, I want to know if your I can guide you about my failure, is the same as yours, they changed the connection and the 2 components are burned, Q3 = IRLU024N
R66 = 33ohm 1watt, stay like your photo the question is, was he corrected the fault changing these 2 components? or more components were damaged ?, I thank you in advance for your reply, greetings |
