Default curtis d.c. motor controller

1994 ezgo dc controller started by itself, drove about 15 yards then blew up replaced with another curtis d.c. motor controller 24 t0 36 volt then put it into drive then it took off by itself what is the problem? Please help any link or starting place would greatly help Thanks Paleoman

OK now its running but when you start off it wants to hop and jump for the first 10 foot or so what causes this? Thanks

Usually bad battery connections or cables will cause stuttering at full application of power.

pot box is out of adjustment maybe if it has one it should tho mine's a 94 too

changed potentiometer about 6 months ago with new one still surging today HELP

had the same kind of problem replaced the contactor and the microswitch on the pot assm. check them with a multi meter
