Default New Owner - Questions

I picked up a rebuilt EzGo a couple months ago that I'd like to add a few items to.

It was listed as a 2001 and from reading threads on this site I think it's a stock 36volt PDS.

I'd like to add a voltage meter, lights and a radio and have a couple of questions.

Are there stock "tap" locations for a voltage meter, running/headlights and 12 volt accessories.

Is it better to spring for an Ez-Go light kit or can aftermarket 12 volt auto lights be used.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The best way is to get a voltage reducer that way it pulls power from all 6 of the batteries. Then power everything off of the voltage reducer.

Thanks for the input.

Is a 10 AMP output sufficient for headlights / taillights and a radio? There is a big price difference for 25 AMP and I'm not sure it's worth the extra $$.

Not really enough information to say.

Headlights of the 12v/55w variety will draw ~5A
Tailights probably ~1-2A
Radio ??? Depends on output but typically, if there is such a thing, will draw 2-3A but those ones you can hear a block away can draw 100A peak.

Adding it up, you MAY be OK, but marginal IMO and you won't have much expansion capacity for any future upgrades. And you know there will be upgrades to come. It's just the nature of owning a cart!

You can drive these items tapping 12v from the pack and with proper maintenance your batteries w/b fine.

My very humble $.02.

Good luck and
