Default Can I test run a 36V cart with 30V?

Not sure if my prayers to St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of lost causes is working or not. I've been working on the 7-year old Trojan T-105's that came with my cart. The first two I've got almost up to 12V after a day of charging...

Of the 4 other batteries, 3 of them have about 3 volts each (haven't started charging them yet) and one of them is completely dead, no volts, muerto...

I would like to see if the cart works before forking out $500-600 for new batteries. If I manage to get 30V between the 5 good batteries, could I hook those up and see if the cart works?

It would be nice to see it move under it's own power, even for just a few feet...

On jack stands only ~ their voltage will drop instantly. Try F and then R if the wheels move in both directions = end of test.

Don't risk damaging other components with low voltage.

Cool thanks, I might give that a try if I can get the other batteries working.

I really want to see this rig work...

I think all of your batteries are toast and won't take a load.
Just find 3x12v batteries of any type in good condition to test the cart.
After you confirm it's working, either buy new batteries or some $150 used ones from a golf cart dealer in your area.

It works!!!!!

I got about 5 to 6 volts on all the batteries and I put it up on a jack and turned the key and the wheels turned!!!!

I dropped the jack and it went about 50' on it's own power before the batteries croaked!

But hey, it works!!!!!!

I'm off to get some batteries tomorrow...
