Default EZGO 2003 PDS SPeed CHip Placement

Hi folks,

I opened the control panel cover on my first cart purchase (going to become a junky) I didn't see seperate plug ie speed chip or hill or whatever. so i ordered one on ebay. I believe i know where this should go. I have one connection that has a tamper evident seal on it. Is this where it should go?

thanks.

Welcome kctimmay....................

Be very cautious........ it just takes "les than 1 second" to trash a good controller.........

Don't be bashful....... ask plenty of questions first.......... There are lots of folks here who are very knowledgeable in this area as well as other areas and are willing to help.

Enjoy!!!

If the chip fits, you must install it!

Remeber to set the Run/Tow switch to Tow before changing the controller's configuration setting.

You have to reprogram the controller. The instructions are on the bottom of the cover. I think you have to switch the tow switch to run and with the key off put the fwd/rev switch from neutral to rev. 5 times. if your reverse buzzer is hooked up you will hear confirmation beeps. once you have done this the chip itself does not have to stay in. You could resell it. Which brings me to my next topic, just because it did not have a chip in place does not mean that it was not programed with a chip. And there are different chips, all called speed chips sometimes. The color and configuration of the wires will tell you exactly what your chip will do for you. No one that sells the chips wants you to know that you dont have to leave them in because it would not help there buisiness if you just passed yours on to your buddy.

I have never heard this before. Can anyone else verify this claim? This procedure sounds very similar to putting a PDS cart into diagnostic mode.
