Voltage converter or not?

I have 1994 36V Marathon. It did not have any accessories when I purchased. It did have the cowl for head lights but the lights were missing and the switch was broken. I ended up rewiring and and adding a few more accessories. So now I have the following: Headlights with a switch, rear parking lights with a separate switch (for stealth), brake light (by mounting a microswitch to the brake pedal and over-ride switch for when the parking brake is engaged), turn signals, horn and floor push button, radio and rotating fan (for when I'm just sitting there not driving). I mounted LED lights to the center dash to indicate what lights are on for the headlight, parking light, turn signal and brake light. I have each on their own circuit w/ fuses spread across the batteries so as to not drain from one set of batteries. When I have my radio on and go to take off (whether lights are on or not), the volume on the radio lowers until I level out the accelerator pedal. I know that a votage converter would take care of this, but I would want to connect all the accessories to it. I was only looking to spend around say $50 for one, and I found some in my price range, but they are only 10A. Anything higher than that is a $100 or more. My question is this: Would all my accessories fit on a 10A converter or should I just put the radio and headlights on the converter? Also, if I do put everything on it and make sure that I'm not using everthing at once, would that damage the converter?

Spend the money on one that will handle 20 amp are so. Long run it will be better. You want be running everything at once unless you like riding during the day with the lights on.
The best solution though is buy a good 12 volt battery and put in the cart for all of the accessories . I had these batteries but you can find them at local stores even the power wheel batteries are good for this type of stuff.

I had one on each side of the cart.

When I was driving my gas version, I had two new separate deep cycle marine batteries run in parallel for all my accessories. The batteries always seem to drain pretty quickly. I was looking to only connect one charger to the cart when I need to recharge. The 20A is what I was thinking too, Guess I'll bite the bullet and get the 20A. Thanks for the advise

The heart of your cart is the main battery string. They have enough to do handling the cart's power. I also suggest a separate battery for accessories. I use a solar panel to keep my extra battery on charge so I don't need 2 chargers.

Sounds like you have a cool looking cart. A solar panel might add to the looks. Mine is a small panel on the lower part of the windshield.

This cart has made a total transformation from when I picked it up a year ago. I wish I had some before pics to compare to. I am finishing up a couple of upgrades that I'm doing and then I'll post some pics. Had I known about this site a year ago, it would have made for a great build thread, cause it looks nothing like when I got it. I also made custom doors for the wintertime. Where would I find a solar panel that small and approx. how much?

It's got most of the hardware you'll need and less than $25 bucks.

I have my charging station on my patio where I park my cart and it has ample sun during the day.
