Re: 96 ez go solenoid bypass
Subby... do me a favor in the future.... when you post, make sure you post your cart as a 1996 E-Z-GO DCS cart...... The DCS part is really important to note......
getting back to your question though, I don't believe there is a safe way to bypass the solenoid on a DCS cart. It has something to do with the Diode/Resistor board that goes from post to post on the solenoid. Don't hold me to it, but I honestly don't think there is a safe way to bypass the solenoid on your cart. |

Re: 96 ez go solenoid bypass
Good point Wabbit
Lets look at the 'solenoid bypass' as a tool of golf cart diagnosis. I never, never, Did I say NEVER? ! bypass a solenoid in my shop or on my service calls.... period. |

Re: 96 ez go solenoid bypass
You are right, in fact you can test it with a meter and a 14g jumper or two fight in the cart.
Quick clip on stuff. |

Re: 96 ez go solenoid bypass
So, who wants to write up Solenoid Testing For DCS/PDS Carts, post it, and then get it stickied?

Re: 96 ez go solenoid bypass
i have no problem with jumpering across a solenoid for the purpose of performing a test, but I use a wire with clips on the end that I can yank off in a hurry if things start to go wrong..... that being said, I have a feeling that jumpering a DCS solenoid would lead to lots of smoke..... I know I remember there being something during training about that diode being on that resistor board for a reason, I just for the life of me can't remember what the reason was........
