Re: new guy electric speed questions
Hello and welcome!
1984 there is only a couple of choices with it. First motor, then a controller upgrade. the 84 is a coil cart and they aren't much on upgrades. You need to convert it over to a controller. A motor will make it some faster but will use up the batteries pretty quick so run time will suffer. Changing it over to a controller will be the best bet! |

Re: new guy electric speed questions
We do some of them, basically you replace the speed control system.
So out with the resistor coil speed control system and in with the Solid state speed control |

Re: new guy electric speed questions
Speed in an electric vehicle is not cheap ... A solid state conversion runs $650-850 and then the door is open to all modern improvements like high speed motors, gear changes, and big tires.

Re: new guy electric speed questions
I thought you already asked the bigger motor builder and they told you their motor was for a modern solid state drive system?
I'm sure if you ask enough people, you can find somebody to sell you one. We are trying to explain why the golf cart drive systems evolved and what you can do with the modern system. I don't know of anyone running a big motor on a resistor cart. Maybe somebody who has a big torque or speed motor on a 36v resistor coil cart will chime in. |

Yes you can put a high speed motor in the cart now but I doubt you will be happy with it. It will run fine just want have much run time. |
