Re: adding 12v battery
I have a marine deep cycle size 24m in that spot.It powers my stereo and my leds. I use a hold down with 2 j-bolts that I got from an auto part store,it doesn't move at all.

Re: adding 12v battery
Having an accessory battery will increase the life of the 36v system just because there will be no imbalance created by an imbalanced drain on 2 of the 6 batteries.
Proper use and charging of the accessory battery will determine how long it stays healthy. If you choose a cranking battery, deep discharges will hurt it. A deep cycle would be better but, any wet cell battery prefers to be recharged soon after use. Never leave them to just sit in a state of discharge. |

Re: adding 12v battery
Make sure when you add this battery, that all your wires, raido / lights, pos + / neg _, go to the battery post, NO grounds to the frame

Re: adding 12v battery
Good Point! Everything on an EV is a 2 wire system.

Re: adding 12v battery
What about something like this to power the accessories. I dont have room for a full size battery, but PowerWheels batteries are 12v and it looks like they will fit in the fenderwell.

Re: adding 12v battery
Get the biggest deep cell battery you can.I mounted mine in a plastic marine battery box works great.I run my winch, parking lights, head lights, driving lights, tail lights, brake lights, radio and i dont have to charge it very often.I also added a fuse block so everything has a fuse protection
