Thunk! then no more go
I was pulling a hill with a passenger drawing around 300 plus amps on a full charge and "Thunk" then no more go. I tested that the motor still ran by jacking up the rear end and using a jumper cable to jump the B- to the M-. Motor spins when I press the throttle. I found that the solenoid lugs were hot as well as the resistor was very hot. No other heat noted.

B- to M- is a controller bypass

Re: Thunk! then no more go
Yes, I know that. As all other things looked OK I wanted to see if motor and solenoid were good or if I needed to further narrow it down. I tested the throttle coil to make sure it was not open. I disconnected one ITS lead at the controller and measured the voltage from that wire to the spade on the controller: It went from around 2v up to 4v at full throttle.

Yeah, looks like a bad controller.
