Motor or Rear end??????
OK, I got my charger and batteries issue problem under control. Now I have a new issue. When I depress on the pedal the 36v motor jumps around like its trying to engage but nothing. If I jack up the rear end tires turn. When I start off slow it will run in till there is any kind of grade. Any ideas

Re: Motor or Rear end??????
It's the "run til any kind of grade" comment and I seem to remember low pack voltage that has me thinking burnt brushes/Armeture......
Low voltage = High amperage = parts cooking off...... |

Re: Motor or Rear end??????
That's funny I just found an old blog with someone that had the same problem.
"All of this work being done and you haven't even tested the batteries? You must like wrenching! If I read this right, your batteries sat for a year, but seemed to take a charge? Get a digital multimeter on those bad-boys and take some voltage readings. Also, let's get a reading at the cart charge receptacle. Even better yet would be a proper load test. Neglected batteries can show proper voltage and have NO capacity to pull a load. BobK October 8, 2007 - 07:44 PM You're so right! I did all that work, and found no problems. HotRodCarts mentioned the batteries in his first response, but I was in a wrenching mood. Lesson learned - I found a battery with only 4.15 volts. I also cleaned and tightened all connections. I'll look for a posting on the load test, I know I saw that subject discussed. Hey, at least if I have a rear end problem in the future, I know how to take it apart!! Thanks for your input, this site is fantastic!!" I guess Ill put the load tester on all my batteries and see what I get. Well at least the rear end oil will get changed and " cover glass beaded and painted at work" |

Re: Motor or Rear end??????
Well, I did the load test on my batteries and 3 out of the 6 came up NO GOOD but I got the rear end pan beaded and primed. Tomorrow new batteries and we'll see what happens. Anybody have any luck with the napa 8144 or 8146's???
