Default Turn Signal Troubleshooting?

Howdy all,

New cart owner, and I've found that this forum has a treasure trove of great people and information. Thanks for that!

I recently purchased a 07 EZ Go PDS TXT and just got around to adding a Turn Signal Kit (Item#TSG UNV BU). I got the wiring done and all signals work when the key is in the OFF or ON position. That's fine by me.

What does not work is when I have the key switched to ONw\Lights or Position 3. The lights all come and and work as expected, but neither the turn signals or the "hazards" work.

Do I have my wiring wrong or is the turn signal designed only to work in the day time!

Thanks in advance,
Ray

did you buy a complete kit for doing this or was the turn signal a seperate purchase from the headlights? I'm unfamiliar with that part number.

Hi Rabbit; I bought the kit. It came with turn signal, wiring and fuse.

The cart already had the front light bar and rear tail lights. Here is the link from edit (check with our sponsors)

I got a aftermarket light kit on mine. When I installed it the directions showed connections with the turn signal and without. You had to swap some wires so that the front marker lights didn't come on with the lights and isolated them to the turn signal harness. Same with the rear brake lights but it just plugged in them. Did your original setup have brake lights? It needs the 2 element bulb to do the blinker / brake light.

Requires adapters for EZGO TXT models (TSG EZ2 0001) with factory-installed light kits.
did you purchase this adapter? Sounds like they are using the adapter to do what Spawn is talking about.... isolate the amber stock bulbs from the factory lightbar harness......

No I did not purchase the adapter as I was under the impression that it only worked with the stock light kit. I have an after market light kit. The rear bulbs do have two filiaments

I did also purchase this Brake Light Kit but have not installed it yet as I do not have a 1" drill bit for drilling my brake pedal. I still need and want to install it however.

Would you have any idea as to which wires to isolate and switch?

I would sure appreciate the help if anyone could spare it. I want my blinkers to work when my lights are on.

Would a picture of my wiring help?

Thanks everyone.

UPDATE:****

I realized today that when my head lights are one, the lights are on and only the outside marker lights are on. Then when I turn on my turn signal, the inside marker light turns on, but does not BLINK. If it blinked it would be working correctly!

If I switch the lights off, then engage the blinker, both the inside lights blink when they are supposed to.

Do I have the wrong wires running to my FLASHER or do I need a "higher power Flasher?"

Are those turn lights, LED or regular Bulb. The LED requires a different flasher unit.

Hi Spawn, Thanks for the reply again!

They are all regular bulbs. They blink\flash just fine when the running lights are not on!
