No Power, Please Help!
Hi, I need some advise please. I have an '02 EZGO Electric Cart. I unhooked the 3-way iginition switch and accidently touch the direct wire that runs from the battery to the side of the switch. I heard just a little buss, but no spark. Now I have no power at all. I now realize, I should have disconnected + battery terminal first. I had the 3-way switch tested and was told it is fine. There are no fuses on the cart or inline fuse on that wire leading to the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your battery pack reading? have you checked each individual battery? It sounds like you created a direct short which will kill a battery quickly. I am sure of the techs will be here soon but will probably ask for the same information.

Re: No Power, Please Help!
They'll also ask what flavor of electric EZGO cart you have, Marathon, Medalist, TXT or RVX?
And what type motor/controller. (Series, DCS, PDS Etc.) I'm a newbie with carts, so I don't know what years the various variations exist, but the better you identify your cart upfront, the few questions the knowledgeable guys will ask before you start getting answers and possible solutions. I may be wrong because I don't know which EZGO electric cart you have, but if your cart has factory installed lighting and/or other electrical options, there should be a fuse block mounted to the rear wheel well cover under the driver's seat. If the wire that arced was something other than an accessory control, it came from/to the controller rather than the battery. Take a look at the manuals and diagrams in the Stickys above and see if you can find one for your cart. |

How do you check the batteries? I don't have a meter, but could probably borrow one.

Bar - you MUST have or get a meter. Especially if you plan on working on this yourself, the entire system is electrical and knowing what voltages and ohms are coming from each componant is essential to propper troubleshooting and maintanence. Locate the serial number of your cart; those in the know may be able to tell you what kind of cart it is from that.
