wheel hop
I'm on my second EZ-GO cart and always seem to fight a less than smooth ride. The cart always feels like I have a tire or two out of round.
I purchase a nice '05 PDS cart with a rear seat kit a couple of month ago. The cart, like my old '95, had some wheel hop. I swapped tires around between the two carts (along with an additional tire) and minimized the hop but it was still there. Last week I purchase 12" wheels and low profile DOT street tires for the cart. Although I am satisfied with my purchase, I was dismayed to find the hop still present. What else on the cart would contribute to the hop? I'd love to eliminated it once and for all. |

Re: wheel hop
I did not balance the tires. I did look at balancing the old tires but the tire shop didn't think it would matter given the top speed of the cart.

Re: wheel hop
on the 12" rims I always balance them.... most shops can't balance 8" and they have serious issues balancing some 10", but I have yet to find a 12" that can't be balanced and get great results from doing so.......

Re: wheel hop
Jack up the cart and spin the wheels. You will notice a bent axle. A bent front hub should not make it wobble or Hop.
