Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
I'm thinking strongly about mounting some marine 6.5 in the rear fender pointing up right between the seats. Has anyone around here done this or have pictures? I just don't want them at my feet or taking up leg space.
Thanks |

Re: Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
imo, no speaker(marine or not) should face upward to catch all the moisture(water). They need to face in a direction for "run off" without the "puddle" effect.

Re: Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
I don't really know to much about electric carts. I have a couple of buddies that did this with their gas Yamaha's and the result was not good. The heat from the engine made the speakers fall apart. Do the electric carts get hot?

Re: Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
I put them in, sounds amazing using the under seat space as the cavity! I see your point about facing up but really don't plan to keep it in wetness.
As for heat, it's really over the tires, not the motor. I'll post some pics tomorrow. |

Here are some shots. I want to do some caulking around the speakers, but I think I'm going to do a body paint in the fall.

Looks pretty good, I would be worried about the "soup bowl" effect too, but if you're going to stay out of the rain/wet, it shouldn't be a problem
(those JBL's are some good sounding speakers, I had them in a boat a few years ago) |

Re: Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
I think if water gets on them, either moving the cart or turning on the speakers will shake it loose.
Oh and yes...they really sound great. :) |

Re: Picture request- speakers in the rear fenders
Since they are marine speakers, I wouldnt worry too much about any residual moisture that would accumulate in them. They are designed for a small amount of moisture to be present.
That install looks really good. I'll bet they do sound good. |

Looks good, I will probably put mine in the same place after seeing your pictures.
