EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
I have a 2002 EZ-Go with Trojan 105 batteries. My batteries recently discharged completely. I used a 12v charger to manually charge the series of batteries until the voltage was high enough for my Powerwise charger to detect and switch on. The charger has now been running for just over 7 hours between 21 and 17 amps. When I turn the key to the "ON" position, the battery meter on the dash still blinks, alternating on the last two bars as if the batteries are very low. What could be the problem? My batteries typically only take about 6 hours to cycle back up from a low charge. Please help...

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
Welcome to bgw.
There is no problem let the charger finish. It may take up to 16hours considering the condition your batts are in. The meter will reset when the charge is complete. If it fails to reset simply disconnect power from it's terminal #1 (they're marked on the back) and reconnect. It should reset. |

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
So the the battery meter will not show that the batteries are being charged until it has fully cycled and reset itself? Not like filling a gas tank, for ex.?

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
I assume that the batteries have been fully charged but the battery meter still blinks low as described before. The charger turned off on its own after about 12 hours. Why are the lights showing its low; this has never been a problem?

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
Do you have a DVM to test the volts of your battery pack and each battery??

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
I have not tested volts. I drove the cart around my course and it still had all the power and "giddy-up" as before. I didnt want to keep riding considering I didnt want it to be dead on the middle of the course.

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
Batteries are 4 years old, probably nearing their life cycle. Approx. what should each battery read, and the series read?

Re: EZ-Go charging issue with battery meter
Tested each battery with multimeter while on charger. All batteries read 7.5v except for battery 5, which reads 7.1v.
