Default Controller options

The new alltrax controller line got me thinking that relocating the controller from beneath the seat to the underside of the access panel might be a good idea for freeing up valuable space for more batteries. The idea is that since there is a heat sink built in, an external heat sink is not necessary. Problem I face however is I own a DCS and the new line of controllers are SERIES. So has anyone else had luck with another Controller being mounted to an alternate location (access panel would be the best example!) without a heat sink?

I can't find any pics of carts I have done this to that are E-Z-GO but here is the idea I use on relocating the controls. Keep in mind, any reasonably thick piece of aluminum will act as a heat sink.

Why don't you just go ahead and convert your DCS cart to series? I converted my originally DCS 98 TXT to series about 4 yrs ago and I'm loving it. I smoked the components on my cart while it was a dcs cart, you on the other hand can sell your parts to offset the conversion cost. Series is where to be.

What does this entail? And what does this cost?

In case anyone is interested, I dug a little deeper into the Alltrax website and ran across a product I must have overlooked before. Apparently they make a heat sink assembly kit (click on the link and scroll to the bottom), which would be helpful in relocating a DCS model controller away from underneath the seat and instead underneath the access panel, freeing up that space for another battery.
