91 EZ GO intermitten power, when you stop sometimes it wont go?

Hi, I am New to the golf cart world and I picked up a 91 EZ GO a few weeks ago for our campsite. It ran fine for a day or so then it stopped. I thought it was the batteries but after a while I got back on and it took off with what I thought was full power. I ran it the rest of the evening and put it on charge for the night. The next day, same thing except this time it wouldn't go right off the charger. I checked for loose wires etc and finally gave up till I could get it back home. Later that day turned the key and it took right off? It has been doing this random go no go thing now since I got it. It usually does it when I stop the cart then try to go...once and a while I'll notice a dead spot while driving but it always seem to keep going. This is very random and seem to do it for no good reason...ie, heat, cold, moisture, etc... I think I might have a bad potentiometer but don't know. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it.

You may have a bad solenoid. Mine was doing same so I replaced the solenoid.

Thank you! I have kinda heard that and it is getting narrowed down to that being a good possibility. Appreciate your help!

My daughter was using the cart at college on a hilly campus. She kept from rolling backwards by keeping her foot on the accelerator. The solenoid burnt up and the cart had the same symptoms as your cart. The cart is as good as new now with a new solenoid.
