Default Need definitive answer about Plowman's posi-trac unit!!

Plowman's carts posi unit is considered to be the best - and I would so love to order one. However...

Their website states the following on the posi-trac unit:

"Designed to fit 1998 to 2006 EZ-GO electric and 1998 to 2006 gas and electric Yamaha."

I have a 2008 EZGO, but isn't the rear axle exactly the same on a 2006 and 2008?? I've called them and they don't have the answer - they just told me "We're mainly Yamaha guys".

Anyone?

as far as I am aware, there is no change in the rear end on the 2008.

Thanks!! I really want to get the cart to posi-trac, and don't want to weld the rear end. Just want everything done to it I can to help out when the time comes and it drops down into some deep mud. I know me, it will happen, sooner rather than later

How hard are these too install? Do I have to drop the rear end or can all of this be done with the bottom cover removed?

Just tried to order the posi unit - was told they make/carry no parts for EZGO.

Told him about the website and what it says, put me on hold for a minute or two, and said to call back on Friday, that the person I need to talk to isn't in.

not hard at all. pull the pan and then the axles need to be pulled back about4-5'. just pull the drum, then take off the retaining clip. you can reverse the drum and use it like a slide hammer. this is hardest part. then take the 4 bolts holding the ring gear and spiders in and the they will drop out. take off the ring gear and diassemble the spiders. sand smooth the inner faces of the two side spiders, and reassemble. all done on the bench, once it is out.

Thanks for the pics!! How much of a difference did you notice in the way it handles the high torque loads i.e. mud, slush, etc?
