Lizard Leg's Upgrades
I had a few people ask about some of the things I had done to my buggie, so I put this together:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...-upgrades.html A quick run down of what was done. When I bought the buggie December 2010, it came with the 4" drop axle lift, 22" Swamp Fox tires, new 4 Ga cables, rear flip seat, and brand new Trojan Pacers. I added the brush guard when I purchased it. Since then I have added/changed/upgraded: upgraded to 48V - added the two 6V batteries to bag well upgraded the controller to a Logisystems 480A (thanks ScottyB!) upgraded to a HD solenoid and HD FNR cam (thanks ScottyB!) upgraded rear springs to HD 4 leaf upgraded rear shocks to Monroe gas shocks upgraded front shocks to KYB gas shocks upgraded to a Grant Challenger steering wheel added 1-3/8" wheel spacers to rear wheels added Sure Grip double gun rack added a marine deep cycle accessory battery under the drivers seat added a marine grade fuse block and ground bus for all accessories added 20amp DC outlet on dash added rear LED taillights added KC Daylighters on the front brushguard added digital voltmeter on dash wired it to an on-off-on switch to monitor both the 48v pack and the 12v accessory battery added the rack across the rear roof supports AAA battery powered "dome light" to underside of roof heavy duty tow hook added to front axle added an underseat storage tray added wheel well seals to help close off the mud slinging into the battery compartment from the rear wheels Wow - did I really do all of that so far??? Planned future upgrades / wants: Motor to PQ for some purple dust Plowman's posi-trac kit Would like to get some good rims and some 23" tires, but these tires and rims are almost brand new - they still have the whatever you call those things that hang off of new tires - injection feelers or something like that |

Re: Lizard Leg's Upgrades
Thanks!!
Oh, wait - forgot about the 1-3/8" wheel extenders for the rear end and the Sure Grip gun rack - if you hunt from a buggy, you have to check these racks out! |

Re: Lizard Leg's Upgrades
Thanks! Mine is nothing compared to what I've seen on here though! We do ride it around the neighborhood and in the woods behind the house, but it is primarily a hunting vehicle. So custom paint jobs, etc are out for me - the first time I have to run around a tree that's blocking the trail - ouch. Wish I could figure out a way to get the roof lowered/raked some - all of our trails were designed for 4 wheelers. Most of them have been widened slightly over the years from the tractors, rhino's and now everyone has buggies, but the "ceiling" over the trails is still pretty low and my roof scrubs constantly.
BTW - edited the future/want upgrades list at the top Someone please stop me. |

Re: Lizard Leg's Upgrades
Looks great! That's some good upgrades! I'm sure you posted this somewhere, but can you answer this??
Front shocks - part # and where to buy, how much $$? Rear shocks - same question? Which steering wheel adapter did you use and where purchased? Did the new shocks help the ride. I think mine are shot, when I was putting on my lift kit, I could easily compress them all the way with one hand, then they would stay there until I pulled them back down |

Re: Lizard Leg's Upgrades
I just saw a thread on lowering the roof. It works for all carts I believe. I will have to find it and send you the link.
