Reverse beeper wiring
Somebody disconnected the reverse beeper in my 89 EZGO, the red & black wires are there, but where do they connect?

Re: Reverse beeper wiring
Unless somebody has rewired the beeper also, the Black wire is "-" and the Red is "+".
Technically, there is no ground in carts, meaning everything has two wires and the frame of the cart is not connected to the battery electrically. (Safety reasons ?) People here have been known to refer to B- as ground, so it does get confusing. Also, the color of wires on one cart may not be the same as they are on another cart. They may have left the factory the same, but you've got to assume that someone along the way used whatever color wire was handy when one was needed. (IIRC, you've got a resistor cart that has been converted to a controller cart, so I wouldn't trust the color of any wire in it.) I'm not too sure how this wiring diagram matches your modified cart, but the Black wire on the beeper connects directly to B-, the same terminal that connects to the controller and charger receptacle. The Red wire connects to one of the Normally Closed (NC) contacts on MS-4, and the White wire from the Common (C) contact of that micro-switch connects to the Positive terminal of the same battery. That puts 6V across the beeper when the F-N-R switch is shifted into reverse. I might not have the right wiring diagram for your cart, so trace it out on one you know to be correct. Some of the wires for the beeper may have just been removed and no longer exist. Hope this helps. |
