Default pedal seems not to have adjustment

ok so i have 95 txt ez go (free). just put new batteries in it. i have stock tires and stock suspension. i have noticed that the top end (full throttel) doesnt seem to be more than throttle pedal at 3/4 . how can i check to see if im getting full 36v to to motor. i plan i putting volt metter on wires going to motor.i pulled up the floor mat and looked at the metal rode that goes in the metal surround. it appears to be going all the way. can i check the ohm on the cable going into the speed control? if so please explain how to do this.

with factory tires the cart will not climb steep hill wont even spin tires.
planing on putting lift with 23 in tire and i fear this will hurt performance even worse.

my brother has a very old club car 36 volt with coils. he has 23 or 24 in his at full throttle will climb any hill or just spin tires. so it seems he is getting full 36 volt power.

i have upgraded the battery wires to 2 ga. next step will be wires to motor with 2ga.

please dont tell me that controler is going bad. lol

welcome russ. all of your cables need to be the same size, otherwise you have a bottleneck. did you fully charge the batteries before using the cart? should run at least overnite at first. your cart will not have a lot of torgue and a speed of about 12-14 mph in stock condition. the cables will help (when they are all changed), but the biggest improvement for torgue will come with an upgraded controller. speed comes with volts.

If I change controller do I need new batteries and new motor?

I ran ot hard this morning and tried couple hills. I checked cables and the new 2ga where cool a's could be the older stock cables to motor where almost to hot to touch. Could this cause it to have great effect on performance?

cables hot=bad. ALL the cables need to be the same. you still keep the same batteries and motor. probably should go with a h.d. front/rear switch and a h.d. solenoid. do you have a series cart, or what. check the chart rib sent.

Russ,

There are many people that are willing and able to help you with the issues you are having with your cart, but you have to answer the question they ask so they can help you.

In your first post you described your cart as a 95 txt ez go (free) Does the (free) part mean that you paid nothing for it, or is at a PDS cart with a Freedom Chip.

From the chart provided by rib33024 you can tell if your cart has a Series or Sepex (Separately Excited) motor, but there are more than one flavor of each.

In your first post, you state you just put in new batteries, so please go to the following website and read everything that starts with the word "Battery" on the menu at top left before you ruin them.
http://www.cartsunlimited.net/
If you haven't already done so, put those new batteries on charge overnight and then follow the new battery break-in procedure.

The fact the the cables to your motor are getting almost too hot to touch is a problem that needs to be corrected before something catches on fire. Since you've replaced the interconnecting cable on the battery pack with 2Ga, I strongly recommend you replace all the remaining high current cables with 2Ga ASAP.

Tell us exactly what your cart is and you'll get a lot better info.
Pictures are a plus also.

If you know your cart's serial number, plug it into this website and it'll tell you what you've got.

Model Year: 1995 Make/Model: Electric Medalist

from what i can tell from the pictures it is a series. it has the mechanical forward and reverse handle.

i am planning on working on finishing the 2ga upgrade.

so is this style cart undesirable?

i ordered a lift yesterday so now gonna have close to $1000 in it

i did read about the batteries. i only run it for 15-20 min at a time then recharge them. i checked the water and so far so good.

you have a great cart, just like mine, altho the frt. end of mine is from a later txt. since it is a series cart, there is a lot you can do w/o changing out the motor-like going to 48v.
and as stated, please read the carts unlimited battery instructions. those batteries will not reach full potential until quite a few charging cycles, and you don't ever want them to go below 75% for this first twenty charges and ever below 50%. carts unl. has a good sale on now for a neat digital battery meter and mounting plate.
with my set up, using the stock motor, there is plenty of torgue and a speed of about 21 mph on level ground.

Check with ScottyB of carts unlimited, he sells a HD cam for that F&R assy .... better to upgrade it NOW before you have a failure.... that heat you are feeling will eventually melt the copper studs.
