Re: looking to up grade my 36v cart
If you add 2 6v batteries in the bagwell to achieve 48v you will increase range, speed, & torque by 33%. You can't beat that!

You need a new controller, diode, resistor, solenoid, cables and your motor will work just won't last too long.

We're all on a budget
Electric cart upgrades are not cheap. Especially 72 volts! Batteries cables, Controllers. Solenoids. Beefed up F&Rs, Gauges, new chargers ...... it adds up. Best thing to do is save up until you are ready |

Re: looking to up grade my 36v cart
you can do in steps, altho i complete kit might be cheaper. did mine a bit at a time. cables, saw a seat of the pants improvement in torgue, h.d, front/ rear switch, h.d. solenoid, then a 480 amp controller. finally got around to buying two batts and made some extra cables and went to 48v. fun!

The fact that you lifted and added a rear seat pretty much demands that you increase the size of the controller as soon as possible. the stock controller is not designed for the additional load you have placed on it. If it is a PDS cart, you can do the controller and wires (at 36 volt) for now and then do the batteries and finally the motor. Keep in mind that the PDS system is weak on torque compared to the Series or DCS setup and the lift you added further decreases the available torque at the wheels so a motor rewind (contact PQ about that) will go a long way towards assisting you. |
