New To golf carts and need Alot of help if you have time
Hello everyone my name is lee and i have a 92electric ezgo golf cart..i think its a marathon .. It doesnt have any batts in it however i do have 6 "old/new" ones that were given to me to tinker with (i was gonna repair them) so i have probably a thousand questions an no answers ..lol.... the cart doesnt have any batt. to batt cables and was wondering if i should get 6ga or just put the 4ga wires in anyways since i think when i get a little bit of money i will want to upgrade it. I see a bunch of wires coming from 4 diff directions and a few of them have labels that dont make any sense to me.... but some of the diagrams match up to a few of the cables... i guess my question is what do i need to get this baby of mine running?the store where i got it from said i would need a controller? i dont know what they do where to hook them up or if it would be advisable to bypass them all i do know is that i cant afford $300 for one :( is there a place where i can get a refurb or a generic one that will work with my cart? how the heck do i know where to get them, what role does it play and would a junkyard carry any of them? i am a student who is looking for a way to get to h.s. with out killing my wallet and saving a little bit of pollution, i do alot ofcomputer repair and trouble shooting jobs on the side and they pay ok but most of it goes to the baby and her needs so i wanted to use the golf cart to drive to work locations intown where golfcart can get to, how would you rate the ride in one of these? from pushing it to my house 4 miles and finding that last hill it seemed pretty nice but ...i think that was just because i was so sore from pushing 3 miles lol...... also i apologize my spacebar seems to be stuck :( thanks in advance for any help you can provide i can take pics talk on the phone call over skype or any platformand hook a webcam up to show live feed .... 1more question where is the best place to get batt cables? buy the wire from home depot and make them my self of find somewhere online?

Welcome, Lee. What are the voltage readings on the old batteries. Test and list all six readings here.

Welcome to BGW Lee. The intelegete people here have the answers you are looking for. It is maily just a matter of the right people seeing your questions. From what I hear, Scotty is one of the brightest on electrical. Good luck and post some pics of the areas in question if you can, that tends to help a lot in trouble shooting and advising as what to do next.

The controller regulates how many amps go to the eledtric motor at any one time......That being said, No.

ok so that being said i could bypass the controller with lets say 24v straight to the motor using shot batts to test the motor? also is it ok if i post a 3d image of the mods i would like to do to the 94 e-z-go (aka the tank) ? 1more thing are there any schematics lurking around out there where i could build the controller myself? |

You are capable of building a controller? I know of only one other person who can do that.
I have not seen any diagrams for them maybe on the web? By 3rd image do you mean 3rd party image? Read the rules and regs here and then post away. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/rules/ We love pics. Some of us can't read |
