Rear end input shaft

I am going to hunt down the exploded view of this rear end (a late 80s or early 90s electric EZ GO), but a quick question if anyone knows - If I pull the circlip off that holds the bearing/seal for the 19 spline input shaft, can I pull the input shaft out, or is there something in the rear end holding it in? I would think it would only be a set of bevel gears to change the direction of power transmission 90 degrees. If not, I suppose I will have to dismantle the entire rear end to get it out.

I removed the circlip and tugged and tugged and it won't come out. I suppose with the bevel gear and the bearings holding both ends of the input shaft in line, the bevel gears won't let it come out. I suppose if I could get the bearing/seal out of the outter end and get some play in the shaft, there may be enough wiggle in the bevels to slide it out. I just didn't want to start jamming a screwdriver in around the outter seal and damage it. Anyone know the proper way yo remove this seal without getting inside the diff?

It come's out in one piece, they can be a little tough, shaft and two bearings, Look at this thread

My seal appears to be seeping? Is it recommended I replace this while the motor is at PQ or is this normal?

One more time before I tug on this thing. I am not a master of physics, but can you explain to me that if a shaft is fixed at both ends and has angled gears intersecting with another gear in between the ends, how can it possibly slip out without breaking the gears?

Is it because it will rotate the gear it is meshed with as it comes out?
And how hard is it to slip back in?

yes the gears will move enough to pull the input gear. replacing is easy.

Yes if it is leaking, I would replace it while you have it apart, it's only a few $$
