Default Powerwise charger question

I took my kids for a ride and when we got back I plugged the charger into the cart and it did not start.I checked the battery voltage and it was at 37.78, Does the charger have to see lower voltage then the 37.78 or is my charger on it's way out?

Wink Re: Powerwise charger question

Sounds like it out to me! Take it a part and jump the 2 black wires that are in the plastic cube. If it starts up then you need a new board.

Thanks Andy,Do I just jump the wires and plug it in? What to expect? Man,I really hate to mess with electricity,I don't want to be laying on the garage floor when the lady gets home...

So Andy what you are saying is when you jump the 2 wires and plug it in if the charger kicks on it's bad and needs a new board? Also do you still connect the other 2 or leave them unplugged while you jump it?

Lightbulb Re: Powerwise charger question

There is only 2 wires in the cube. Both are black wires. Just unplug the ac and dc plugs and jumper them together. Then plug it up and see if it works. If it does the board is bad and replace it. It really is just the relay is bad but for the time it takes to unsolder it and resolder the new one just buy the board and be done with it.
You don't want to leave it this way because it want shut off when done it will burn the batteries up. This is just a quick way to check the charger and get the batteries some juice.
