Is the HD-M-24 6v or 12v
Sorry to be so uneducated about batteries but I don't know to charge it at 6or12v setting.

don't know what that battery is, but if it has 3 caps, it is 6v. with 6 caps (or cells) you have 12v.

That is a 12v battery from what I can find on the web.

Is it typical for new batteries to smell of strong sulpher the first charge?
