Default 1997 Series Stock TXT with 23" Tires

I have a 1997 series TXT and recently purchased heavy duty rear springs, a 4" factory lift kit & 23x10.5-12 tire/wheels. My question is:

how much faster will the car go?
Will I have a less torque than the standard golf car tires?
Do I need to worry about the performance of the stock series controller or should I upgrade to a high amp controller?

I live in neighborhood with a few hills and have a rear seat on the back and may be carrying four passengers at a time.

My main concern is how the stock controller is going to react to the lift & the bigger tires.

I'm new here so if anyone can help explain what may happen, I'd be gratefull!

Thanks everyone in advance.

welcome southern. you will be a tad short on torgue. first step, after making sure the battery pack is good, is to add 4ga or larger cables. all 13 . then think about a larger controller and hd parts. lots of good info in the search area.

To answer your question.....
the cart will perform much worse than stock in every situation except running downhill.
After several months of this reduced performance you will smell or see the magic smoke released from one or more of the following; the Controller, the motor, or F&R

I hope this helps

You should be ok for a while as long as you don't load it down with 4 big guys and go running up hills in the mud. Make your wish list if you don't already have one:
1.Cables
2.HD F/R switch
3.Controller
4.
5.
6.

...and have fun with what ya got till something breaks!
