Default hobbiest needs help rebuilding old electric ezgo golf cart

Hi There!

I just picked up an old ezgo electric golf cart (1979 I think) to restore to use arround the farm. It has been left for a few years and I am starting from square one on where to start? It came with 3, 6 volt trogan 105 batteries, I don't know how old they are or if they can be used. How do I test them? Do I need 3 more or should I replace all 6.

Does any one know where I can get a repair manual for this model? Is there such a thing?

Thanks for any help you can give

Bob

Welcome to the BGW forum Bob Wood...................

If those 3 batteries have been setting as long as you indicated the cart had, you will need all 6 batteries.

A hydrometer and a volt meter will test your batteries. If an 8 volt battery measures 8 volts, it's no good. Almost 9 volts, then you have something. Hydrometers can be bought anywhere, auto part stores, golf car shops, battery shops. Even our sponsors here on our forum have them too.

Thanks Rusty

I will pick them up in the next couple of days and test the batteries. I let you know how it turns out.
