Odd pedal ?
Ok, looked around and could no find much on this. The pedal for my '96 series cart works 99,99999% of the time. When it has an issue is on the first use of the morning. Have not tried it without an overnight charge.
When I get on to go, there is no go (total silence) on the first press of the pedal. If I hold it down, it will suddenly jump to life. It will also go on the second or third press. This just started yesterday. Why??????? I am thinking the solenoid is hanging once things cool down. Forgot....good batteries, new HD F&R, old controller, old solenoid, motor stock replacement in 01...D&D, old switch. |

Re: Odd pedal ?
try cliping your DVM leads to the 2 small posts of the solenoid before hitting the pedal the first time and then checking the voltage when you actually do press the pedal. If it is getting full pack voltage, then yes, the solenoid is "hanging"

Re: Odd pedal ?
OK....no voltage when key on, pedal not depressed. No voltage when pedal first depressed, second press of pedal.....full pack voltage.....will test again tomorrow to be sure. Love these once a day issues.....must get heavier jumper cables for these tests..........

Re: Odd pedal ?
The fact you are seeing no voltage eliminates the solenoid hanging. I would say replace the pedal box micro and the F&R micro. One or the other is the most likely culprit (my money is with sonicj on the pedal box micro).

Re: Odd pedal ?
The micros on the F&R are both new.
Will look into how to access the pedal box and see what is up. |

Re: Odd pedal ?
Well...tried something. Ran it a bit...put it on the charger....and then unplugged after a bit. Same results....no action on first press of pedal.
Took the charge plug apart....the ?reed switch? inside had broken glass and was dirty. Hot wired that for now (yes, I know it will drive off on the charger now) and will see how it acts over the next couple days. Should be able to get that switch locally. |

Re: Odd pedal ?
I had the reed switch go out on mine not long ago and hot wired it like you did. I don't see the benefit in getting a new one, it wont hurt anything and you know when you get on it the charger is plugged in so just be sure to unplug it. its like a nuetral saftey switch in your car or tractor, just don't start in gear

FWIW:
Thread the charger cord thru the steering wheel as a nice reminder. You know, for those times ....for the aged .....for the kiddos.....and for others... |
