Plastic battery tray or liner?
I have searched and searched! Does anyone remember seeing the thread where a plastic battery tray or liner was used under the batteries in an EZGO? It wasn't homemade the guy had ordered it from somewhere I thought it was from EZGO but could not find it on their site.

I know what you're talking about. Look up frame guard for ezgo. That's what he called it.

A tray liner for the TXT is not needed in my experience it is one of the toughest battery tray designs, almost never needing repairs unless the owner has mistakenly overfilled the batteries for years causing the acidic water to 'boil' over during charging.
In contrast carts which use plastic trays like the Yamaha almost always need tray repairs when the batteries are replaced. It is possible that the plastic trays are keeping moisture in constant contact with the tray metal and causing damage. Just a thought on rust & corrosion. |

I live in a dry climate 8-9 months of the year anyway, so that has to be taken into account. I am always shocked when members post about this rusted to that, etc.
Consider Ezgo TXT to be made from much thicker gauge and larger angle iron than the competitors. I say clean em and neutralize the acid, clean em and wire wheel em, then clean em again and paint with Rustoleum They should be good for the life of the batteries if you do not overfill.And don't get me started on the aluminum racks.  |
