Default strange sound from rear wheel

It started out as a cracking sound every so often as I would take off from a stand still. It was just for a few seconds as I got up to speed, but would stop when I reached a certain speed. Only came back if I completely stopped and then started again. Kinda sounded like plastic cracking or a plastic twisting/ clicking sound????

Last night, the sound started every time I let off the GO pedal while still rolling. Basically when I coast, I get the sound out of the left rear wheel and now it is more like a clicking sound???

Any ideas? Cart still under my 90 day warrenty so I'll be taking it in again for this fix too. Already had to get the steering fixed. Glad this showed up now vs later.

Mine has done that or similar off and on. (I've had it since new-11 years).

Loosen and re-torque rear wheel nuts using a cross pattern sequence. If that doesn't do it have dealer fix it under warranty or just go to dealer first.

Are those 12's or 14's under tha cart? Could be the inside fender rubbing the wheel/tire. Not really sure but I have had that happen a few times on some builds with oversized rim/tire combos

12's and there is no rubbing. I checked. Thanks though.

Do you have the stock tires and rims, put those on the back and see if it changes, I've heard of other people saying some like this, and they said it had some to do with the custom wheels.

Your brake drum may be loose. remove the tire, take out the cotter pin and re-torque the axle nut to #130. I've had this problem before, if you wait to long you could be buying a new brake drum. Check both sides while your at it

no rocks or nail stuck in the tires?

maybe a wheel bearing ?

The sound stops when I push on the throttle, when I coast the sound comes back?

definately check the axle nut torque. Also, pull the drum and check for major wear on the splines. I am thinking that you are getting "gear lash" but instead of it being at the gears, you are getting it at the splined hub/axle......

There could also be a brake shoe that is dragging slightly, but I would think you would hear that constantly......

Hate to bump an old thread, but we have the same issue. Entire rear axle was replaced with a brand new unit 8 months ago, so bearings are not the issue. Swapped a wheel front to rear and the noise persists on the passenger side in the rear. Wheel torque doesn't seem to make much, if any difference. Was wondering what you ended up finding out about this.

Hate to pull stuff apart back there again, but wifey said we needed to end our ride short tonight since the noise was so bad when I let off the throttle.
