Default Programing a 48 volt Beast

I just bought my first golf cart and it is the 48 volt beast! I love it so far but it is too powerful for my kids to ride. The dealer said the controller was programmable but I didn't want to mess with factory settings until I realized it was too powerful for my girls to drive it. If you reprogram it is their like a 36 volt setting or do you really need to know how to set every parameter?

thanks in advance for any help with this issue

If you all the equipment to program it you can soften the throttle or pick a more gentle throttle pattern... and even turn the output down by degrees.... you just need a little guidance

It would help to know what controller you have. When I installed my Alltrax I found the throttle to be way too jerky at the beginning. My son, the computer geek (like father like son) said we should hook up a computer to the controller...I had mentioned how cool the controller was. Well, within a few minutes we saw a throttle curve that was much smoother at the start....Problem solved and it only took a 10yr old kid to "get er done".

thanks alot guys! I don't know what controller comes with the beast but I will go look and post. Do you need special plug ins or wires.

My Alltrax just has a serial port and yours probably does too. The newer Alltrax units come with USB....I love technology!
