Default ezgo battery meter blinks after charging

ezgo battery meter blinks after charging. Disconnect lead from 36 volt positive and reconnect, meter works showing state of charge. Any Ideas what is going on?

The meter is suppose to reset each time the voltage reaches 44v ( near charger cut off voltage) I have seen them act like that and even put a toggle switch in one that needed a manual reset quite often.... I think it is one of the ways they fail?
Hopefully somebody who knows the Curtis meter better will add something here .....

Yes they suck. Buy yourself an in-dash volt meter, like the one carts unlimited offers, and be satisfied with accurate readings and no problems.

Scotty is correct.
If your battery charger is taking the batteries up to 42.3v for longer than 6 minutes it should reset, if it doesn't it is defective and needs to be replaced.
There are no serviceable parts in your meter.

Could you clarify why a SOC meter sucks?

We would like to keep the ezgo meter if possible. It appears that the wires are connected wrong. I have a blue wire and an orange wire in the harness. Does anyone know where they connect? I have them connected as follows. Orange to 36 volt positive and blue to negative.

Are there only 2 wires to your meter?
If it says Ezgo or Curtis on it, it is a 3 wire connection.

This is for the Ezgo and Curtis meters:
Pin 1 = Battery +
Connects to the vehicle’s main positive (+) terminal.
Pin 2 = Battery –
Connects to the vehicle’s main negative (–) terminal
Note: Pins 1 & 2 are connected across the total
battery pack.
Pin 3 = No Option, Pin 3 is left open.
Pin 4 = Keyswitch
Connects to Battery + through the switched terminal of the
keyswitch.

For one they are more trouble than they are worth and two look how many threads have been started because of issues with the "SOC" meter. I'm just saying, and I'll qoute my last post, "Just my two pennies

Thanks

Just a thought, are you letting the charger run until it shuts itself off? If not you may not be reaching the meter's threshold voltage.

We decided to replace the batteries. Just an update on the meter. It started blinking over night with out recharging. Now I have another question. I noticed after replacing the batteries that the charge wires coming from the charger have the white wire connected to the positive post and the black to the negative. This is how they were connected originally. I took a picture before just to make sure. Is this the correct hook up?
