Default it could only happen to me

I got a chance to go by deer camp and spend the evening. I decided to work on cart. If you remember I'm running 60v right now but having problem I believe to be the czonka. I only had 12v running to activation coil. I increased that to 60v and still won't work. I can here relay clicking when wire is contacted to battery but still no go. I jump the relay and cart runs fine. I guess this means my high dollar czonka is toast.
SECOND BIG PROBLEM. After jumping relay I decided to go for a spin. I got 1/4 mile down dirt road and I hereSCARRRRRR, SCARRRRRRR. I hit the brakes and they do not work. I turn around and almost get back to camp and lose almost all power and smoke is coming from under the cart. While sitting on side of road, I look under cart and brake cable going to driver wheel is toasted. I mean melted. A neighbor comes by and pulls me back to camp. I have looked and I can't find any connection between brake cable and elec juice. I even checked cables that may be touching battery boxes, but no frays or anything. I don't have a jack with me to get a real close eye on everything. Does anyone have suggestions what to for when I come back to camp?
Oh, and do you agree Czonka is toasted?

Can you get some close up pics of EVERYTHING? It would also be nice if you could draw up a diagram EXACTLY like you have it wired.

Is it a Club Car?
Recently refurbish a CC that had evidence of this type of problem.....
Can you make that noise again? Where was that coming from?!

Roady cart wired per your diagram under Xtreme carts, res to controller, pg 2. The only micro I have is in the pb-6.
I'm sure my spelling of sound was not right. It had to be some type of elec short sound but not one I've heard before.
After I got towed back to camp, cart would still run, but I'm letting it sit till I can get under it and figure problem out.
Oh, and I ordered a new brake cable. You reckon that will fix it all.:rol l:

MIke, the hiss you heard could only be the sound arching electric makes (while melting battery cabels)
Regardless of how you have it wired - I think you have a direct short somewhere along the brake cable. Or possibly to the frame under the seat on route to the motor?

Wow,...something is very wrong. Something is touching something, could you heat up the cables that much if the brakes weren't functioning properly...I don't see how. Take pics. of everthing underneath and post. Good luck.

WOOOOOH! Wait a miinute here.....I have a theory. rubber bushings to springs.....springs to rear axle......rear axle toouches brake cables.......brake cables make a connection to whatever they are connected to.....You have a short in your motor, I think the feild coil is shorted out. The whole rear axle, motor and all is insulated from everything except throught the brake cables.

Hey! Stranger things have happened. Sounds possible to me!

I don't have camera with me. This was an unexpected trip to camp via work. I rather sleep in cabin instead of truck. I noticed brake cables went through a metal guide that is welded to frame. So I figure there has to be some wire somewhere grounding on frame. It got dark, and I was tired, so I''ll seek the problem next time.
P.S. Wanna buy 82 Ezgo w/rear seat, don't run, no batteries, brakes don't work, has 4" LIFT, stock tires and rims, no controller, comes with 36v solenoid.
