Default alltrax 400 question?

hey guys i am all new to the golf cart world and i have a question. i have a 1995 36v ez-go medalist. it has a lift on it with oversize wheels and tires. stock motor and controller. 4 guage wires. i purchased a 400 amp programmable alltrax controller and i installed it tonight and i notice no difference at all. i am not sure what to do to change it, any help would be appreciated!! thanks in advance!!!

I'm guessing you are talking about not noticing a performance difference.
That is because you were whithin the limits of your old controller when using your cart. So no matter how much higher the amp rating of the new controller you install,if your usage of the cart only required so many amps, you will not notice any difference!
If you go up in voltage you will see a difference! I think your new controller might allow you to go to 48V but you have to veify that with the specs given with it. (probably will say 24V-48V).
You would need more batteries,48V charger and just about anyone else on this site will tell you to go with heavy duty everything else in the high current system (solenoid,f&r switch,cables etc.) to be safe in case you bog down in mud and you stand on the throttle to get out.

Same here Seth. I have a 2004 that I installed a 400 Alltrax on and can't tell a difference in performance. Guess i am going 48v and PQ next.
