8 T-105s Under The Seat Question
Yesterday, I traded in my six, 9 year old Exides for eight, T-105s, to go along with my new AXE 4855, and other goodies from ScottyB.
I want to locate all eight under the seat, like ScottyB did in post #60 of this thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/annou...ontrols-6.html I've been planning this for years, but have only seen a limited number of photos on how to install the two additional batteries. Does anyone have any photos or details they could share on how they fabricated a base and hold downs? I plan on moving my controller and solenoid over my motor, and moving my FNR forward. 1998 TXT Series. thanks Adam |

Re: 8 T-105s Under The Seat Question
If that's the case you will have room in both the driver side and passenger side compartments to install the additional 2 batteries! As far as hold downs go, the 6 in the middle will use the standard hold downs, the 2 added ones you can either use a battery strap, or the universal ones from and auto parts store

Re: 8 T-105s Under The Seat Question
I used some angle iron and a welder to make the battery trays in post#60 . What are going to use for an F&R? Reversing contactor? I used a conventional HD F&R but I seriously modified the Pivot shaft..... shortening it and lengthening the linkage. More work than it was worth probably for a one off mod.... I just wanted to see if I could do what the engineers at western avoided.

You gave me the most ideas in the following photos: IMG_5104.jpg, 5154, 5157, 5159, 5164, 5166, 5174, 5176, 5180, 5216, and 5313. I'll post photos when I'm closer. I'm slow, but steady. |

Re: 8 T-105s Under The Seat Question
I'm prolly gonna end up sacrificing these double sided heat sinks for my 4855. I'll chop off half of them, surface them, then use heat sink grease to allow good heat transfer.
I plan to mount the 4855 "upside down", but that may change. |

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...entifier=95989 It's a perfect fit for my two T-105 pluses, which have three separate fill caps, vs. the other six T-105s, which have the one piece caps. |

Re: 8 T-105s Under The Seat Question
I cut a length of the middle out of it .... and welded the 2 pcs back together.
A nuisance project but it works. |
